Epson is a global technology leader whose philosophy of efficient, compact and precise innovation enriches lives and helps create a better world. The company is focused on solving societal issues through innovations in home and office printing, commercial and industrial printing, manufacturing, visual and lifestyle.
Since 1982, Epson has developed a strong presence across major markets in Southeast Asia. Led by the regional headquarters Epson Singapore, Epson’s business in Southeast Asia spans an extensive network of 11 countries with a comprehensive infrastructure of close to 500 service outlets, 7 manufacturing facilities and 6 Epson solution centers.
With sustainability at the core of organisation, Epson’s goal is to become carbon negative and eliminate use of exhaustible underground resources such as oil and metal by 2050. Progressing towards its Global Environmental Vision, Epson’s manufacturing sites will switch to 100% renewable energy by 2023. The Epson factory in the Philippines is the first factory to achieve this target, with Indonesia following suit in 2022 – entirely generated by biomass energy sources.
Leading by example, Epson promotes responsible manufacturing by incorporating more recycled material within the main unit of its printers and product packaging, while minimising consumables.
As part of Epson 25 Renewed Corporate Vision, JP¥100 billion will be invested over 10 years with a focus on decarbonisation, resource recycling and an accelerated programme to develop environmental technology.
Epson is also committed to co-creating sustainable and enriched communities by addressing solutions to environmental problems and other societal issues. This commitment is aligned with all the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations.
Recognised by international environmental non-profit organisation, Epson has been named in the CDP’s prestigious ‘A’ List after attaining the highest scores in climate preservation and water security categories. Epson gained EcoVadis Platinum for the third consecutive year. Epson is also a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) – a global coalition dedicated to corporate social responsibility, preservation of human rights and due diligence in global supply chains – with multiple Epson manufacturing sites earning platinum status in RBA audits.
Guided by its corporate purpose, Epson will continue to address customer and societal challenges and create unique environmental value through its business activities to help achieve the SDGs and a sustainable future.
